• Clan Kill Yourself Relaunches & TeamSpeak Changes

  Today marks the dawn of a new era for Clan Kill Yourself, as of this day we are rebranding to TeamCKY as its shorter and easier to remember. But don't fret, we will still be keeping the Clan Kill Yourself name and the current =CKY= clan tag, after all it's what we are.
  
  This day also marks a new era for the TeamCKY website, as I have given it a "slight" overhaul, dithing our old Joomla! CMS system for something new and easier to manage. Nothing drastic has changed, however as we move over to the new system content has been taken offline. The old site IS still accessible for the time being at http://www.teamcky.co.uk/old but as soon as I've migrated the content over, that site dies.
  
  And finally onto the final piece of news regarding our TeamSpeak server. As some of you may already know, the Christmas season of 2009 seen the final release of TeamSpeak 3, now seeing as I like keeping things upto date, I have removed our old TeamSpeak 2 server, and replaced it with our very own TeamSpeak 3 server. To connect to it, simply use these details :-

  Yes folks, Clan Kill Yourself is back after a 4 month absence. Myself and Twisted are currently getting things sorted again so expect to see more news soon!!!

  New TeamSpeak Server
  
  We already have our brand new 20-slot TeamSpeak server online, so feel free to come on for a chat (the tsviewer to the left doesn't show status for the new server). The IP for joining in on the action on TS is 4.79.145.132 on port 8803.
  
  This is a short term server until we can get our rear-ends into gear and get the normal clankillyourself.co.uk TeamSpeak server set up.
  
  
• Duke Nukem developer goes bust

  Veteran games developer 3D Realms has closed down because of a lack of funds. Founded in 1987, the firm popularised the concept of shareware gaming and published the seminal Duke Nukem and Wolfenstein 3D first-person shooters.
  
  The company was working on a follow-up title, Duke Nukem Forever, which after being in development for 12 years has become the object of industry derision. Publisher Take-Two says it will no longer fund development of the game but retains rights to the title.
  
  "We can confirm that our relationship with 3D Realms for Duke Nukem Forever was a publishing arrangement, which did not include ongoing funds for development of the title," said Take-Two's Alan Lewis in a statement. There has been no official comment from 3D Realms, other than a forum posting from the company's webmaster, Joe Siegler, who said: "It's not a marketing thing. It's true. I have nothing further to say at this time.
  
  
• Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 revealed!

  Earlier tonight Infinity Ward gave gamers the first glimpse of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 at the Developer Choice Awards. Activision Blizzard officially announced the game in February earlier this year.
  
  Sharp-eyed gamers following Geoff Keighley (GameTrailers) and Robert Bowling (Infinity Ward) on Twitter were teased throughout the day on what was to be announced. Earlier in the day the official teaser website for Modern Warfare 2 went live. The website offered no details about the game, with only an image of an oscilloscope reading displayed.
  
  Modern Warfare 2 is the sequel to the hugely popular 2007 game, released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC/Mac.

  You read right folks. Clan Kill Yourself is ready for business. Our website is finished (although we're just about to start generating content for it) and we're open for new members. Want to join?
  
  Then you need to meet the following requirements:
  
  
  • At least over the age of 18 (although depending on circumstances we may make exceptions)
    
  • Own a headset and make use of our Teamspeak server frequently
    
  • Be an active member of the clan, this means using the forums, using teamspeak, and be particuly active in games
    
  • Contribute financially - although this isn't a requirement, we rely on donations/contributions to keep our services running (website, teamspeak, gameservers). We don't like people who take and not give (we've had too much of this in the past). So even if you can't send money, theres adverts on the site, use them!
  
  Anyone that isn't active for 4 weeks (or 1 month) without notification will be removed from the clan. This has been a massive problem for us in the past, and something we're not going to tolerate anymore! We don't expect you to be on every hour of every day, because thats just silly! We just want some activity from all members in a clan for a change. So think about these points before joining.

  We are a new multigaming, multiplatform clan that like to get together every now and then to have a laugh and a play.
  
  Want to join? Unfortunately we're not recruiting at the moment as we've only just started out. Once our website is finished, and we have things organised we will be opening up and allowing anyone over 18 to join. We hope to have things sorted ASAP so please keep checking back!
